Every year, motor vehicle crashes kill more workers than any other type of incident. As a business owner, it’s your responsibility to keep your employees safe while they’re behind the wheel at work.

One of the leading causes of crashes is distracted driving. Talking on the phone has proven to reduce driver reaction time as much as being legally drunk, and sending even one text message takes a driver’s eyes off the road for nearly five seconds. 

To reduce these risks, employers should prohibit cell phone use while driving. To effectively do so, companies should never require employees to text or call when on the road.
